The sparkles and dance of Bollywood are always happening in Mumbai, known for being the hollywood of india. The range of cultures and religons of Mumbai create a very culturally diverse city.
Full of millionaires but yet Mumbai houses the largest slum in all of Asia, the city struggles to house the rapidly growing population which is of now 14 million people. And with one of the highest GSDP's (gross state domestic product), the amount of people moving to Mumbai each year is only increasing.

Bollywood found its name through the mash of Bombay (now Mumbai) and hollywood, its a popular theme in india. . But what is Bollywood? Essentially Bollywood is indian interpretation of hollywood movies, it makes up a large part of pop culture. The 21st century has made Bollywood increasingly popular and in demand, and Mumbai has remained the centre of the Bollywood scene since 1913, when the first Bollywood film was made.
COMERCIAL CAPITAL MUMBAI
Mumbai is regarded the wealthiest city in the country of india and has the highest GDP in south and central Asia. Rated in the top ten cites for commerce, it is known as the commercial capital of india as well as the entertainment capital. Mumbai accounts for 25% of the industrial output and 5% of India's GDP, it is considered the centre of trade, business and industries.

DHARAVI SLUM
Mumbai houses the largest slums in all of Asia; Dharavi slum. Dharavi is home to two thirds of the population of Mumbai, and its location is right in the heart of the city. One acre of this slum equates to 18,000 people, and on average there are 14 inhabitants to a 28 square meter area. How the slum came to be is an important historical event in Mumbai's history. What is now the city centre used to be inhabited by fisherman in the 19th century, until the waste build up became too much. After the fisherman moved away, room was available for others, and the Kumbhars came to establish a potters' colony. Tamils arrived from the south and opened tanneries. And soon thousands form Uttar Pradesh came to work in the textile industry.
Today the government plans to replace and rebuild Dharavi and transform it into a modern township.
